Wow, when I first started level one at iO West one year ago, my only goal was to learn a little about improv in order to help me book commercials. Killian McHugh suggested that it would help with commercial auditions so I signed up. I got bit by the improv bug and decide to complete the entire program.
Improvisations is such a HUGE asset in this business (Commercially AND Theatrically) but most actors refuse to invest in themselves and ultimately their career.
Simply being at iO West has allowed me to meet so many people and get great advice from some of the BEST people in the business.
If you want to be taken seriously as an actor, you NEED to have some form of REPUTABLE improvisation training on your resume.
